Who we are

Crimson Forest FC started as a call-out for women to join a football team on Instagram in early 2023 by two friends wanting to play beautiful social, inclusive football. Since then, we have culminated into a non-profit football club playing 5’s, 7’s, 8’s and 11s.

We provide a welcoming environment for women of all backgrounds and skill levels to engage in football, whether for fun, fitness, or competition. At Crimson Forest FC, our mission is to create a supportive space where women can build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and lead active, healthy lifestyles. We aim to break down barriers to participation in sport, particularly for underrepresented groups, and to inspire the next generation of female athletes.

What We Offer

  • Inclusive Training Sessions: Regular training sessions tailored to various skill levels, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to improve and enjoy the game.

  • Competitive Opportunities: For those interested in taking their skills to the next level, we offer opportunities to participate in local leagues and tournaments.

  • Community Engagement: We actively engage with the local community through events and partnerships such as Girls United aiming to make football accessible to all women and girls.

Let's play, grow, and inspire together at Crimson Forest FC!

I founded Crimson Forest FC in December 2023 because i was tired of playing social beginners football as that was the only team i have access to. So my friend and i created Crimson Forest, a team for women ran by women to offer more choices for Women of all levels. The main aim of Crimson is to show you can play great football, be apart of a community and have fun.

Policies

Here at Crimson Forest we aim to create a safe enviroment for all women to play football. Below are our official policies on equality explained.

Equality Explained.

Crimson Forest exists to make football ore available and accessible to all women, regardless of experience or ability. We aim to make everyone feel welcome , encouraged and included. This means we strive to create an environment in which everyone is respected and treated equally regardless of sexuality, age, religion or disability. We believe we can achieve this if everyone involved in the club bears that in mind that:

On and off the pitch we:

1.Maintain a positive and respectful attitude without teammates, opposition, referees, coaches and ourselves. Everyone feeling good matters more than winning!

2.Use Clear, Inclusive and gender-netural language.

3. Keep in mind how much space we take up. Indivdiually and a group, with our bodies and with our voices. Respect each others physical space and boundaries.

4.Remember that others have different backgrounds, cultures and identities to us.

Prejudice, discrimination and Harassment
5. We have a zero-tolerance approach to racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and all other predjuice or discrimiantion, including micro-aggressions.
6. Banter is part of the football experience. It’s not banter to demean someone on the grounds of their race, sexuality, gender identity or any other protected characistic.

Accountability.

9. Anyone can contact our welfare officer: Nell to raise any issue. This will be taken seriously. We have an accountability procedure in place to deal with incidents in a timely, proportionate , fair and transparent a way as possible.

10. We are collectively responsible for holdign each other and ourselves to account for any harmful or oppressive behaviour. We must all be willing to be accountable for what we do and say, try to behave responsibly and with sensitivity, listen ot other views, be ready to apologise, make amends and support each other to do this constructively and in good faith.

Accountability Policy

Guidance on responses
We have a zero-tolerance response to racism, classism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and all other prejudice or discrimination.
Level 1: Check in

  • Lowest and most common form of Intervention.

  • Useful for harm caused by low level oppressive speach. A way to flag our Equality Policy and remind someone to think about their word choice more.

  • Can be done in person or via email by any member of Crimson Forest and can reach out the Welfare officer(s) for support

Level 2: Call in

  1. For addressing more serious incidents e.g Verbal Abuse, low-level harassment.

  2. Should be handled in person in person by two members of Crimson Forest Committee members.

  3. Make clear the boundaries are unacceptable breach of the Equality Policy.

    1. Ask the player to take time out, reflect and stay away from the person / individuals hurt.

If the individual hurt, says they would work towards a resolution, offer to faciltate a process for this which might include
      1. An apology from the person who caused harm

      2. Evidence of engagement of the har they caused and work towards transformative personal growth to change their behaviour.

Level 3: Call out

  1. In Extreme cases (and very unlikely) circumstances the Crimson Forest committee may decide to suspend someone from the club, temporarily or permanetly:

    1. For a serious breach of Equality Policy eg. Physical or sexual violence

    2. if someone refused to be held accountable for harm they caused.

    3. If it is felt the safety of a fellow member (s) is at immediate risk

    4. They will be notified of the outcome in writing. This will be accompanied by details of the procedure for their return, if the suspension is temporary.
